Старое название далматского дога. Эта порода собак сначала предназначалась для охраны почтовых повозок, но скоро стало модным иметь одну или двух таких собак для сопровождения в качестве эскорта модной кареты, коляски. Далматские доги должны были бежать по бокам коляски, рядом с колёсами, или следовать сзади.
